I swear, I'm being too inspired by the music and art from my favourite games recently, if that's even possible... I play one game, and decide I just *have* to do fan art for it. I then play another game (so I don't get sick of the previous one), then fall in love AGAIN, so I move onto another game, or back to the first (I'm even free-roaming on ACII, despite platinuming it, just to revisit the beauty of Venice, Florence, Tuscany and Forlì and get that serene inspiration). So, I have all these concepts developing in my puny skull... (Knowing me) One might expect a mental breakdown and no art at all, or, one can speculate the rare possibility that there is some kind of art being produced. If you guess the unlikely, you'd be right. :B

I have (at least) THREE pieces underway, right this very moment (one dating back to February, however..). Due to my visually excited head, yet again, my projects list has been expanding. It now reaches a total of 10 - 13 personal projects (some are borderline being removed), some of the others have their own sub-pieces, so... that's a lot; and that's not including long-overdue trades, requests or gifts. Part of me wants to post the list, so I can get your input for certain concepts or more ideas down the track, or even to tell me "you're insane, bad idea, stop it naow." So it would help me a lot to get your input where I can. :)

I can probably safely say that not all of those will be posted. But you will see some, if not most!
I've been focusing on realism, mostly human heads as of late, so expect a little bit of that soon.
My only issue is going to be colouring... I know it's hard to define a style without any real experimentation, but I've been wondering if simple observation can be the cause for what yours will become? I've longed for having a (traditional) style like Jasqreate, NovaEden and QUINNEY. But I've discovered the digital work of arvalis (who, since I've been watching, has gone viral), and many other talented artists from digital-artists and Concept-ArtMasters group. I want my style to look realistic, with the slight influence of cel-shading; a concept looking sort of style (but more visually refined).

Anywho, this journal is long enough. :P

Until the next journal/uploaded deviation, FARE THEE WELL!

So... I wasn't going to, but I have created an art Tumblr account.

Follow me: fantasycloudnine.tumblr.com/
... If you want. :P

Nothing's posted so far because I have just about no idea how to use it. Anyone who does know, feel free to help out a noob *pleeeeease*. (Free sketch of something if you can provide enough details about general use, themes, linking back to deviantART, and other websites [near the "About me" section. Things like scribblyblue's Tumblr here, scribblyblue.tumblr.com/].)

I may turn it into a "feels" blog. Just saying what I'm currently working on (like my Blogspot), the difficulties I've encountered, the music I'm listening to or what's motivating me, my research, what I'm excited about, what's driving me up the wall (what I've torn up...) and so on. None of that will be posted on dA or Blogspot, for spam purposes. Basically this is another site where I can interact with people on a more casual basis. :)

I'm currently following:
NovaEden
scribblyblue
PrettyFlyShyGuy
Ry-Spirit

So, if you've also got an art Tumblr too, send me a link, and I'll follow you! :aww:

Quixotic...

...unrealistic in the pursuit of unreachable goals; extravagantly chivalrous or romantic; visionary, impractical; impulsive and often rashly unpredictable.

You don't understand how much that one word applies to me, and I wish I was kidding. But, I'm sure you've all noticed.. :dead:

*This journal is (going to be highly) contradictive...* Moving on!

I've been working on my to-do list since the last journal, and every time I think I've finished or I'm ready to post a journal, I think of a new project to add, whether it's personal or something I owe.
I might result updating the to-do-list when there's more than, say, three new projects.

One another note:
I've fixed up my blog on Blospot. So, I have another side journal thing.
You can see it here: fantasycloudnine.blogspot.com.…
This is where I'll post WIPs, more details about my projects and my to-do list(s) and also get to interact with my watchers and any followers over there (come and say hi!), as I update (but, if you want, please note me on here too!).  This is so I can keep the spam here on dA, to a minimum.
PS: You'll see my previous Game Design blog from TAFE (should you go stalking) – feel free to ignore this...

I'm also contemplating a Tumblr account for my art as well, but there I'll only post WIPs – no massive journal entries, it will be kept clean and simple.  Let me know if you would like to see art there too!

Due to the large response I got from my last journal * :P * I've decided to sit down and write a list titled "Upcoming Art Projects", including personal works, things I owe for Art Trades or belated Gifts. Just everything; I can upload this, I just won't be showing my entire personal work list, as they're surprises. ;)

Earlier today I went through my folders, plastic sleeves and loose bits of paper I keep shelved in my desk. I found things that I'd started and sketched out (from 3 years ago!), but just didn't colour. I even had a few "How on earth did I do that, then?"  and "What the hell was I on?" moments, so I've kept what I think I can re-work and complete; which, surprisingly, isn't much.

I've also decided to start the Pokémon Challenge – drawing every single Pokémon; the Black and White Pokédex I may or may not attempt as I didn't really get into it... I mean Timburr, Girdurr, Conkeldurr? SERIOUSLY? I lol'd when I first heard it, but...*sigh*

ANYWHO! I have begun the journey, starting with Bulbasaur. I'm trying to think of creative or appropriate backgrounds (not just shapes or random colours to fill the area, but actual settings to build atmosphere of the artwork). Each piece will vary in media. I may use digital for one, pencils or watercolours, ink or paint, and even try sculpture work for others. I've just spent the last hour sketching out the Bulbasaur piece, and so far, I'm really happy. I've surprised myself.

Stay tuned guys, I have a lot planned!
As it's 4.a.m, I'm going to bed... to read. :B

Hey guys!

Yes, I'm alive.. Anywho!

I'm back at Tafe for my final semester of study. This semester's assessment includes a group Game project and 3D modelling and texturing.
The Game Project takes up most of my time, and my role within the group is the Artist. So I do just about all the visuals.. The game my group's making is an idea I came up with (it's 2D click-and-find-objects puzzle game, with 3D interactive models) and based it more on the art style and visuals of the game, rather than gameplay.
To simplify it, it's a cross between Machinarium and The Tiny Bang Story, more so. But it will hopefully have artistic visuals similar to that of Braid with a slight influence of Steampunk. So to ensure I'm not actually dead this time (if a lack of sleep hasn't killed me beforehand...) I'll be posting up concepts, final designs, level designs and maybe some 3D models (should I need to do any).  The game will be produced for iPad (as the group believes that having a game focused on art and being played on an iPhone/iPod screen, is not acceptable); and it will be available on the App Store when it's completed (but not for another three months or so.)
Just warning you all now, there's a lot of screens for me to draw up.. probably a good 20+.

I forgot to mention I got a drawing tablet! I've had it for just under two weeks, but I'm fairly used to it already, and really enjoying it (despite saying I'd NEVER work with/in digital..). I already have two personal WIPs (both fan-arts), and now all these Tafe works to do.
So I'll be very busy and you guys will actually see art from me! :B
